CMA CGM adds to NEFGUI service in Brazil, French Guyana,N Trinidad

Jul.28--FRENCH shipping group CMA CGM has expanded its fleet calling at ports in north Brazil, French Guyana and the Caribbean, after taking delivery of the 2,100-TEU CMA CGM Cayenne

This is the first in a series of three Guyanamax vessels, as well as having 530 reefer containers, from South Korea's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

The new ship, which sails under the British flag, will join the north Europe, French Guiana, north Brazil (NEFGUI) weekly service on a 42-day rotation of: Algeciras, Rotterdam, Tilbury, Rouen, Le Havre, Philipsburg, Port of Spain, Degrade des Cannes, Belen, Formalize, Natal and Algeciras, a company statement said.

This trio of new builds will join a fleet of 465 vessels. The two remaining ships in the series are due to come onboard in August and September, to serve the NEFGUI line as well, thereby raising capacity by 18 per cent.

The company said that by strengthening the capacity of the NEFGUI line, calling ports in north Brazil, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Marten,N the shipping leader is adapting its offer to the market's demands.
