CMEC Comtrans Ships Heavy Equipment to the Novolukomi and Bereza Combined Cycle Power Plants in Belarus

In early January 2013, CMEC Comtrans successfully shipped parts for two combined cycle power plants to Novolukomi and Bereza, Belarus.

Ten pieces of heavy equipment were sent to the Novolukomi and Bereza power stations in Belarus, including two turbines (310 tons), two turbine generators (318 tons), four main transformers (224 tons and 134 tons), and two turbine stators (167 tons).

The entire shipping process took six months. Under the careful guidance of the company’s leadership, the Comtrans Belarus project team overcame all obstacles. We utilized logistics resources across Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic. We had to make extensive preparations for large cargo clearance, seamlessly linking a variety of cargo transportation methods across national borders. Comtrans organized complex transportation approvals and permissions and found solutions to insufficient water levels for barges caused by 50 years of dry weather. We ensured that all of the heavy equipment arrived at the project sites in a safe and timely manner, allowing the entire project to proceed smoothly.
