CMEC Comtrans May Children's Donation Drive

Western Xinjiang contains both the Gobi Desert and snow-capped peaks; the environment is inhospitable and life is hard. Many of the students here come from poor, largely uneducated herding families.

Baiyu County, Sichuan, is located in the middle of the Qinghai-Tibet Plain, at an elevation of 3,100 meters. During the winter, temperatures can drop as low as -20°C. There are currently 339 students at primary schools in the county, and 322 of them live in poverty, 16 are orphans, and one is disabled. Because the school is short on funding, it lacks books and teaching equipment.

As a result of the difficulties these children face, the entire staff brought in clothing, school supplies, and toiletries to donate to these children. In just ten short days, the donated items filled the conference room.

We donated 320 coats, hats, and gloves, 47 toys, balls, and other extracurricular items, 450 dictionaries and books, and 50 boxes of moisturizer.
